Trainings and Workshops for Youth Leaders
HCC offers youth-centered trainings and workshops for middle and high school students, ranging from single events to multi-session groups with young leaders.
Topics include:
Stress and the Developing Brain: Youth build knowledge around the impact of stress and trauma on one’s self and relationships and learn strategies for working with adaptive brain patterns in response to stress
Safety and Predictability: Youth develop self-regulation practices to feel calm and manage strong emotions in response to triggers or threats
Cultural Humility and Identity Development: Youth reflect on their own racial and cultural identities and explore practices for empowering each other within the context of their developing identities
Conflict Resolution: Youth develop skills for resolving conflict using foundations of restorative justice
Resilience Building Practices: Youth develop skills and strategies for raising individual and community resilience
